Photos I’ve Developed at Home

↟ Developing Film at Home ↟
I shot a roll to practice with so I wasn’t emotionally attached if it didn’t work out! I was so busy trying to get the temperature of the chemicals correct that I didn’t fill the chamber nearly enough. When I pulled the film out it was mostly blank with a few extremely faint frames. After scanning and some editing these ghostly photos were the result.

I shot another test roll, this time making sure I used enough chemicals! When this roll came out it was like Christmas morning!! I was so happy to get it right!

From there I had the ITCH! I broke open old disposables, I shot rolls of daily life. Anything to break out the chemicals! I don’t have a dark room so I load up the spools in a closet and then develop in a well ventilated bathroom. I have had more than a few accidents with the top flying off and our walls looking like they are covered in spaghetti sauce (and let me tell ya these chemicals do not smell good). If you’re trying it out, make sure you open the lid every now and again to relieve the pressure.

Film is so rewarding, there is something so special about it being one of one and tangible. If you are reading this rn, go shoot some film!
